Bracken laying

I watched the moors farmers scythe acres of bracken this morning ready for bundling and trussing. The annual bracken harvest hasn't taken place for many years but, with a heatwave last summer and a dry start to 2019, it's a bumper crop.

Thatched roofs, bracken-bale constructions, dental floss and of course, The Yorkshire Bracken Dolly Fest to celebrate the yield; it's a remarkable product when the season goes well.
