Morning ritual

Actually, it's not my morning ritual, but it is a fact that every journey from Dunoon starts on this ferry, and every return ends here - unless you commit yourself to the dubious reliability of the Rest and Be Thankful road or decide that all your journeys will be up the West coast. We regard it as we used to the bus to work in the morning all these years ago in Glasgow, although the comparison weakens when the sea is rough. On a morning like today's, however, the crossing was calm and the view romantic, as a low mist veiled the entrance to the Holy Loch and the festive lights on the bridge of the Sound of Shuna could still be seen in the last few moments before the sun rose.
