Christening

A family christening today. A service full of happiness and whimsy (a bubble machine is a new one on me) with a good amount of the big sister's involvement. I thought this window of Christ and the children very apt although there's a sad history attached. It is a memorial to the two eldest children of the local squire, erected at the behest of their younger brother; both the children died from smallpox.

An enormous spread of tea and cakes afterwards and then back to a hearty roast dinner at my brother's. Let's just say that I'm not starving! They are hosting teachers who have come over with their pupils from southern Spain. What lovely people, and so nice to chat to (or sort of gesticulate at ... we got there!).

Apologies for the lack of comments but it's been a bit full on. I'll catch up with you soon :-)
