A Sure Sign of Spring

Boston Common is buzzing this weekend. With the Boston Marathon being held on Monday, the city has filled up with participants their friends and families, and lots of other race supporters.  When I took Mabel for her mid-morning walk, we wove our way through throngs of people, runners warming up, dog walkers, babies in strollers, young lovers, and what seemed like a whole platoon of US Army guys who appeared to be setting up booths to encourage interest in enlisting (see extra).  I was delighted to discover that the beloved carousel is back from its winter hibernation -- a sure sign of Spring!  This zebra looked eager to transport excited young ones on his back for another season.
