Cockleroy Hill, West Lothian

This is our first weekend at home in six weeks free of major commitments/visitors - hurrah!

This morning at 09:30 we set off for a bike ride west. Mr hazelh predicted that we would be home 'by lunchtime'. I wasn't too sure of this, but kept my opinion to myself. We returned at 17:00!

We've had a great day of cycling in the spring sunshine. Our 40-mile trek took us along the Sustrans N75 route through Kirknewton, Livingston village, and Bathgate. Next we rode over the hills via Cairnpapple and Beecraigs Country Park, then down to Linlithgow from where we caught a train back to Edinburgh. We took two breaks along the way - first at Juniper Green for elevenses of tea and scone, then at the café in the country park for lunch of soup and toasted sandwiches (plus traybakes...)

I took the photo for my blip just after our lunch stop.

Exercise today: 40 mile bike ride.
