Chester FC 2 York City 2

I was fortunate to miss Chester's last home game when we were in the Lake District. They lost 6-0 at home to Stockport County on Tuesday so the players had something to prove today.

In the event the first half was poor and Chester trailed 1-0 but at least they didn't capitulate and equalised through a comedy own goal by ex-Blue Sean Newton. York then took the lead through another own goal, this time off Chester keeper Grant Shenton. However George Waring got another equaliser and the game finished 2-2. Only three games to go now and Chester's chances of reaching the play-offs have as good as disappeared but this is no bad thing as far as I am concerned.
