Last day

We woke at 8 and Jon got straight on with fitting the second door.

Manda arrived with a tin of primer so we both got on with painting the door Jon fitted yesterday. Dad wasn’t feeling good. The side effects of the radiotherapy are far more severe than we ever imagined. I just want to see him start to feel and look better.

I cut the grass then once Jon had finished fitted the door I painted it. Mum had cooked us some lunch, but then we sadly had to leave on our 3 hour drive home. We stopped for a cup of tea with Jons mum and dad one the way, then got back on the road. Home at 6 to find our wonderful children have done all the jobs, kept the animals fed and cleaned and tidied. Even the bathroom!Shopping done for a fraction of what I normally spend, and dinner on. And that was with Daniel and Henry working yesterday, and Mollie and Henry working today. How lucky am I?!

After dinner I had a nice long bath and am now watching The Durrells on itv+1.

A tiring weekend, but necessary and productive. I just wish I could do more.
