A time for everything

Happy Easter!

Christ is risen! Alleluia!

It was a cool somewhat gloomy start to this Easter Sunday morning, but before long the sun was breaking its way through the clouds. We had to be at church earlier than usual to run through the music with the brass and percussion, but then we had plenty of time to have some juice, coffee and doughnuts, which D, the wife of our director had brought in! The shocking news from Sri Lanka unfortunately put a slight damper on things for me, since it’s only just over a year since we were there with our daughter, Laura. However, the music was still uplifting, the scent of the flowers glorious, and the sun pouring through the stained glass windows beautiful - so a treat for the senses. Once home, we quickly changed, called Roger’s family in England, got a few last minute things together, and then we were off - driving down to New Orleans and environs for a week or so. This is our first time to New Orleans, so we are looking forward to it! We drove today as far as Decatur Alabama - about a 6-hour drive. The weather by now was beautiful, and being Easter Sunday there wasn’t too much traffic on the road, so we had a nice smooth drive. Time to turn in now, and get a fairly early night, so we can get an early start in the morning - another 6 hours drive tomorrow.
I’m hoping to keep up with my blips while we’re away, though I don’t have a very good track record of blipping on vacation, since our days are usually pretty busy, and come the evening once we’ve had dinner, I’m usually pretty tired! However, I certainly don’t expect to have much time for commenting, so I apologise in advance!
