Podophyllum

A wildflower commonly known in these parts as mayapple. They are currently in bloom - in late summer there will be an "apple" where the flower is now. Our box turtles - which are now called "woodland box turtle" or something like that (used to be Eastern box turtle) - apparently are partial to them. The apple's at about the right height on the plant for a box turtle to reach.
