Storks and Waves

After a breakfast on our balcony in the early morning sun we drove up and across Portugal to the Alentejo coast at Cabo Sardão. This is a spectacular place with the Atlantic waves crashing into the bay. It's also one of the places where storks nest on  the cliffs. This is one of the nests, containing two babies and an egg. One of the extras shows two nests, taken from a different angle.
We heard about this cape from amandoAlentejo who we were meeting up with a little later in Vila Nova do Milfontes, a little further north and another fantastically beautiful place.
This is our fourth trip to visit Daveen and Mike - a lovely friendship that started through Blipfoto.
After a walk on the beach and a delightful lunch in a fish restaurant that was almost on the beach we drove across the width of Portugal to Mourão, close to the Spanish border, where D & M live.
The other extra shows Mike studying the information about a statue of Christopher Columbus, in the town Cuba. Some researchers reckon Columbus was born in this town.
Both amandoAlentejo and HarlingDarling have blips from these events...
