Rain Delay

My husband encourages me to go to baseball games with him in the early spring and fall because he knows I don't do well sitting in the miserable sun and heat of summer for 3-4 hours.  Today was one of my requisite games.  It was supposed to start at 4 but at about 3:30, the game was delayed as a large front of severe thunderstorms was beginning to move into the area.  As you can see, the skies soon opened up and it was still raining when we left at about 5:15. (he knows I don't do well with long rain delays either. ;-) . By the time the game finally started at 6:30 we were comfortably seated in a new Italian restaurant in Foggy Bottom and I was well into my glass of Pinot Grigio and I was quite grateful to be there.  We had a delicious dinner and were home in time for him to catch the rest of the game on T.V.

Lest you think that I am a total wimp, I really am not.  I can be out in the sun in very hot temperatures with my camera, and can be oblivious to it all.  It's more about the slow pace of baseball and the length of the games. I get antsy.

Still negotiating to see if this counts as one of my "requisite games."  I spent two hours at the ballpark so surely it must count.
