Spiky!

You would be forgiven for thinking this was a lovely spring morning but, taking into account the wind chill factor, it was below 2 deg C!  The icy blast from the north was fiercesome!  The washing stayed on the line, but the end of the hand towel ended up a bit frayed at the edges!

The sun was shining on the Gunnera, which has just woken up and is growing almost as you watch it.  One of my plant books says the rate of growth in the spring is phenomenal - I'll second that!  From a bare stump to an already sizeable plant in a couple of weeks!  Taken just before the hailstones and the sleety showers . . .   I was torn between taking a photo of Lottie with her black coat peppered in hailstones, and getting the washing in off the line!   She was bundled into the house, I got the washing in!
