ART

A free day for us (No cleaners or Fiona). Our walk found us (a bit of trolley on the way) at the Seattle Art Museum…I wanted to see the current show “Like a Hammer” by Native American (Cockltow/Cherokee)  Jeffrey Gibson, who uses many recycled and repurposed materials as well as glass beads, metal jingles, canvas, nylon fringe etc etc.   Lots of work involved.  The multi layers of history and many cultural references were too much for me to follow..so I enjoyed the materials, but think we don’t need to bring any grandkids (always try to check it out first).   Our favorite piece was this driftwood with paint and  beads.
Punching bags in the extra.

Then we walked to Pioneer Square to see a show that included friend quilt maker (HERE  The other extra small piece will be mine!      I was only “allowed” 2 gallery stops so then home.  Enuf, but It always does feed the soul, one way or another.    Odd thing seen from the bus HERE right next to a large fancy retirement home.
