A view from Jeanneb

Beautiful blue.

It was another lovely start to the day with barely any wind.
Our last day here so we didn’t want to go far and headed to Rubha Dunan a small headland between Achiltibuie and Polglass for a 3 mike walk with great views over the Summer Isles and The Minch. I took lots of photos of the beautiful blue calm sea with stripes of colour that my photographs cannot match.
Looking past some of the smaller Summer Isles here and across the passage of water that extends from Loch Broom to The Minch between the mainland and the Outer Hebridean island of Lewis.
In the very centre on the horizon, if you look on a bigger screen, you may see The Loch Seaforth heading to Stornaway on Lewis. At the same time tomorrow we shall hopefully be on it looking towards the mainland.

We could see and hear the work going on on Tanera Mor the biggest of the Summer Isles, mentioned on Tuesday. Walking back along the road I saw 7-8 ruined Croft’s with perhaps just one still being in use for storage. You can still make out the land strips that each one had.
On completion we had coffee and cake in the Piping School cafe. We got in just before 16 cyclists turned up!
Returning to the car at the Community Centre there were lots of cars arriving for a funeral ‘tea’. The Artists gallery was closed for two hours so we had to return later. The lady in the gallery said ‘ ..you have to go to a funeral’, it’s the sort of community where everyone turns out.
Spent a little time in the garden this afternoon sewing, not something I had thought would be possible this holiday. Lovely sitting there just listening to the birds.
A last walk to the beach managing it for the first time when the tide was low.
Going for dinner at the Am Fouran Bar in about an hour. Haven’t been for a year or two so we thought we should go on our last night to celebrate our tenth visit to this special place.
