Fresh green and copper leaves in Mote Park

Awake early so made the most of the day, being up in town before we usually leave the house! Showers threatened all day giving new leaves a brightness against dark clouds in the background.

We avoided the rain in town and to and from although it did rain a little when we were having coffee and tea cake.

Rained even more while I was washing pots, which I should have done last year, in preparation for planting out tomatoes. Didn’t make much difference as I was wet and dirt splattered from scrubbing pots.

The rain stopped me from cutting the grass. It’ll still be there tomorrow, a little bit longer and a little bit worse.
