Yes according to the University of California definition of a fruit versus a vegetable, “ ginger is considered a vegetable, because it is the root of the ginger plant. In spite of this, ginger is not your typical vegetable in that it does not provide the nutrients commonly associated with vegetables, such as potassium and vitamins A and C.”
