W. S. Merwin, R.I.P.

W.S. Merwin was acclaimed as a poet and an ecologist. He acquired a Hawaiian pineapple plantation whose soil had been depleted, restored its fertility, and planted over 500 species of palm trees there.

In my collage, the hands are Merwin's, holding an array of seeds from his palm trees. On the back is this poem:

water feeds the land
from the flower comes the fruit
then we feast on poems

Did Merwin write this? Did I?
I can't remember, and Google doesn't know either.
