Red Knot

"All three subspecies of Red Knot found in North America are in decline. The populations wintering in South America dropped by more than 50% from the mid-1980s to 2003 and the rufa subspecies is listed as federally Threatened in the United States. A 2012 study estimated the total number of all three North American subspecies at about 139,000 breeding birds."
