Thornthwaite Crag

Another 4 Wainwrights in the bag today bringing our tally to 154.   Only 60 left to do.

Todays walk was really nice but quite hard and both Jane and I feel pretty trashed (nothing to do with the beer and wine we have consumed since we got back)

We parked in the village of Hartsop and walked up the near vertical path up Hartsop Dodd.  Then a gentle walk along the plateau to Stony Cove Pike followed by not-so-gentle descent followed by a steep ascent to Thornthwaite crag where this picture was taken.  It has the poshest cairn we have seen and splendid views towards Morecambe bay. (similar, but higher than the view I blipped on Sunday from Troutbeck Tongue). We finally descended via Gray Crag back to Hartsop.

My extra shows a pretty little barn near the bottom with Hartsop Dodd behind
