Life in Newburgh on Ythan

By Talpa

A bit of colour on a dreich day.

Our false shamrock Oxalis triangularis  has delighted us with its colourful leaves and elegant flowers for getting on for 30 years. When first acquired it was living in a 5 cm pot; now it is over a metre in diameter!

The species  is widely grown as a pot plant but is endemic to Brazil where it is on the IUCN Red List of endangered species.
