Seeing Beyond Looking

My woodland walk

The sun came out fairly late after rain during the night, but I hopped on the metro and then the bus to get out walking in the woods. The sky was a pale blue and there was a delicious breeze blowing.

There are so many wild flowers growing now and I counted nine different species. Next time I will take my wild flower book with me to get all the names I don't know.

The tiny flowers I have chosen for today looked so lovely in the darket parts of the woods with their beautiful plum-coloured leaves.

This afternoon I watched the last part of D-Day 75. There were beautiful poems. I loved the one by Alfred Lord Tennyson called "Crossing the Bar". Tears were streaming down my face as I watched the War Veterans make their way to the monument with their wreaths as the choir was singing "The Lord's My Shepherd."
