Marjorie's ramblings

The rain finally came

We expected torrential rain yesterday and it never came. Today we have had steady, heavy rain all day. Even Oscar spent a lot of time indoors which is unusual for him.

I've been editing photos again. I can see the end in sight soon(ish).

Paul, from the kitchen company, came to check on progress and agrees that some things still need fixing.

John Lewis didn't have a manager at work today to speak to me, but they offered to pay postage if I send the bracket recorded delivery. Julie has volunteered to take it to the store next week, which makes life much easier for me.

The builders from the insurers say that most of the damage I've noticed to Mum's wardrobe was pre-existing. Apparently they photographed it but did not point it out to me. So that's embarrassing if it is so. I'm waiting to see the photographic proof now. It is all very tiring.

I popped into Hexham later on to pick up a test pot of paint recommended by Elspeth. It's on the wall now. A decision has to be made sooner rather than later.

I wandered in the peaceful garden in the rain - just drizzling. The flowers are all sodden but look beautiful nonetheless. Here is one of my favourite geraniums in our herbaceous border.
