Light as a Feather

OH Blip! I get so annoyed when I have spent half an hour crafting an entry and then you go and lose it because the server has decided to log me off.

I recovered this lovely downy feather during my walk with William round Kirby Muxloe moat on Monday. Several Canada Geese in residence, one of whom 'donated' this feather. Was it lost to a fox, or another goose, or moulting?

The geese themselves are solid and stridently noisy during the mating season. They're also very dirty, leaving their poo just anywhere. I'm glad that William has not tried to pick any up.

After shop sitting for Aziz and a quick dash round Tesco and M&S, it was time to leave for the dentist in Coalville. On my next visit in two months' time, I have to have all my top front teeth out and implants fitted in the top jaw. I shall have some mild sedation as well as the local anaesthetic, and Len has to come with me to drive me home. We shall be there all afternoon.

The dentist is so relaxed and assured. It's just a day's work for him but he is good at putting it all into perspective. He was listening to the World Cup cricket match on Radio 5 Live while I was in the surgery. He said that England was thrashing the West Indies and that Bairstow got a quick 50. At least he and Len will have something to talk about.
