It’s one of the babies today

We appear to have two (at least I’ve seen two), and I’ve seen two females in the last few days.  Ann counted five in this tree this afternoon.  Our house is close to Ayton Wood, a rather neglected piece of woodland where there are many dying trees and lots of woodpecker holes.  I know I’ve had quite a few woodpecker blips recently but they really are star attractions at the moment.  But it’s also great to see the young blue and great tits which are everywhere.  My good news is that the RSPB cat scarer that arrived in the post yesterday appears to be doing it’s job brilliantly and though he hasn’t gone altogether he is very carefully circumventing the area where the ultrasound operates, which is good news for the birds.
