Caen Hill (Sunday 16th June 2019)

I managed to come home with one less pairs of glasses than I left with, but along the way I got to check on swans at Devizes Wharf and here at Caen Hill. The cygnet pair continue to grow and are carefully evaluating the skills of the boaters negotiating the Caen Hill Flight.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Kate Bush - Flower of the Mountain (recorded 1987-1989 and 2011)
This really chose itself as today is BloomsDay, when Leopold Bloom took his micro-odyssey around Dublin in James Joyce's Ulysses. It was also chosen today by Cerys Matthews on her Six show.
The estate of Joyce originally refused to licence Kate Bush's treatment of Molly Bloom's soliloquy and she had to write her own lyric in its place, which became The Sensual World. Later they relented and Kate was able to re-do the vocal for The Director's Cut in 2011.
