Burnet Rose, Treshnish

A fabulous day here - we watched Blipper ‘Treshnish ‘ rounding up the sheep this morning with her family .
Lots of sunshine so we were able to sit outside listening to the cuckoo ( first for me this year ) .
After lunch we walked through the meadows which are full of wildflowers including several orchids - the marsh orchid, great butterfly orchid, and a really purple one which I couldn’t identify. There was also the rare crown vetch and ragged robin as well as the beautiful burnet roses . The one in the main picture was tinged with pink which enhanced its beauty . It really is wildflower heaven all thanks to the careful management of the land here . I love it !
Then we sat by the rocks on the shore at Haunn listening to the oyster catchers, watching the waves . Occasionally, a couple of seals popped up with their noses in the air then turned and flipped and swam away .
