Sgwarnog: In the Field

Swarm

I came across a large swarm of these longhorn moths (Nemophora degeerella) dancing in the sunshine at the edge of Spring Wood; the metallic sheen showed up well in those at rest.

I had a couple of walks, with a Father’s Day lunch with kids sandwiched in between. The morning was better for butterflies: Specked Wood, Green-veined White, Painted Lady, Red Admiral and my first Meadow Brown of the year. Large Skipper and Small White were added to the list in the afternoon.
