1314

On this day in 1314, the battle of Bannockburn commenced, when Robert the Bruce, King of Scotland, defeated King Edward II’s English army in the first war of Scottish Independence.

There is a tenuous link to this historical event, in today’s blip of the view taken from Craigmiller Castle, in Edinburgh, in that it was used as one of the settings of the Chris Pine film, ‘Outlaw King’.

Additionally, the castle has been used as one of the settings in the ‘Outlander’ tv series.

In other news, went antique hunting after going round the castle, searching for an old fashioned coat stand ... alas, no joy!

Back to work tomorrow... boo!

Here’s hoping you have had a good Sunday too.
