Coaching Route Milestone

The Coaching Route between Newport and Pettycur ran from 1808 to 1848 and is still marked by these beautiful milestones.
This is the start of the route at Newport.

The route was a toll road and the same route can be traced today. The distances are accurate, something that cannot be said about many of today’s distance markers.
