MonoMonday:Patriotism

We had a Photogroup excursion to Portland today.
Also there were trisharooni and Walking Wombat with CCN.

Portland is a small town 45 minutes west of Blackheath. (No similarities to Portland, Oregon).

From 1902 until 1991it had a thriving cement factory and became known as "the town that built Sydney".
Now little more than a sleepy village it is very unspoiled and we only saw a handful of other people, all locals, during our visit.
The town features art works on many of the buildings of re-created advertisng signs, "The Signs of Yester Year". See extra.
Despite that I saw little evidence of "patriotism", the theme for today's mono, except for this Australian flag in the window of the body piercing shop!

Thank you Carolina for hosting this month.
