Wanderings & Witterings

Auchinstarry

Arriving at the car park in shirt sleeves for the start of today's Ramblers walk, it didn't take long before I realised that a jacket was needed. Auchinstarry Marina was colder and windier than outside my home. A few of my fellow Ramblers were similarly attired with multiple layers.

Once on the path towards Twechar, however, the sun began to burn off some of the clouds and the temperature rose several degrees. Time to stop and consign our outermost layers back into our daypacks. My Blip was taken at this point too.

A stop for drinks and snacks at the canal lock at Twechar (see extra) and then down onto the path near Dumbreck Woods in Kilsyth for our return to Auchinstarry.

A short walk today, which gave me the opportunity to run back over to Doune and revisit part of tomorrow's walk, which I am leading, as I was unhappy with part of the route. I'm glad I did, as I discovered a better path through the woods than the one I took when I did the recce last week. Job done.
