Apples again

This is the third full bucket of small apples (about 2.5 cm in diameter or less) that have fallen off the tree into the grass before they are ripe. They are destined for the compost bin but I wish we had some pigs nearby who could enjoy them.

I assume it's the tree doing the work that we don't do of thinning out the crop but there seem to be a lot more than other years. But perhaps that's just because treading on them hurts my foot so much more than usual!

The harvest will start in earnest in about two weeks.
