Life through the lens...

The Wild Flowers of Brockadale

As we sat there overlooking the hillside, the little River Went winding it's gentle way through the valley.  Watching the numerous different butterflies fluttering by, and listening to the birds singing, I thought of the words of one of my favourite poems :

What is life if full of care,
We have no time to stand ( sit ) and stare.

Brockadale is one of our special places.
Yorkshire Wild Life
We always like to visit on a beautiful day like today.
Blue sky, sunshine, gentle breeze and not too hot.
There were one or two people taking photos.
So many different butterflies, but I decided today I would just sit and watch, and not go chasing them around.
Today was for the wild flowers, although they did manage to get in on a shot or two, along with several other insects.

A lovely stop for lunch, half way round the walk, at The Shoulder of Mutton in Kirk Smeaton. ( see extra  The sign may make you smile)
They only serve sandwiches, but always freshly made.
My tuna, cucumber and mayo was perfect. Good value at £2.
Very quiet. Only us sat outside in the garden.  Must be busier on a weekend.

It only took us 30 mins. to drive there. ( see map)
Another place we have to thank the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust for.
