Now, as I see it......

On the beach (2)

Today we went to St Nicholas beach. We've used it before and always taken a taxi boat but this time we decided to walk. The path can just be seen on the right headland on my blip from yesterday, and is dry and rocky, with one bit which is a little vertiginous, and a bit of a scramble over rocks at the end although some rudimentary concrete steps have been installed to help. Well worth it though; my shot is of W ahead of me on the path and I've added an extra of a view of the beach just before the scramble down. A sign on a gate which said push to open (you pulled) told us it would take ten minutes which was optimistic; it took us nearer forty.

The return walk starts with the steep climb up over the rocks but has great views across the bay and down to Pedi. The island had a lot of rain earlier in the year which means that the wild sage and thyme covering the hillsides haven't dried out yet so the fragrances as you brushed against some of the bushes was divine.
