Tower Tuesday - Machrie Moor
This towering (see what I did there?) sandstone sentinel stands apart from a similar trio remaining from a stone circle, on a site with several other circles (at least 11?) on/around the site. Most of the circles still there were made up of rounded grey boulders, resting like petrified pouffes in the grass.
So many walks today it was hard to choose from: Kilpatrick dun, Kings Cave woodland/shoreline, or the beautiful vista from the ruined Viking Fort overlooking Holy Isle.
