Lochranza otter watching

What a bloody brilliant day. Took a long walk on the path less travelled from Corrie to the top of Goat Fell today, though the top 30 mins of climb was inside a cloud, which had built over the morning. But the views on the way were wide and surroundings varied with new insects to spy! Best lunch spot ever on a perfect rock seat by a burbling stream.
Drove up to Lochranza afterwards, and were rewarded by chance close views of an otter hunting then swimming to shore with its leggy prey, which turned out to be a lobster, then wrestling with it on the beach (pincer had a good grip on the otter’s neck!) and finally tackling it from the ‘safe’ end by ripping the lobster’s tail off and eating it from there up. Incredible sight but I felt very sorry for the lobster. Day was complete with a fantastic meal and live folk at Crofters Music Bar.
