Plan A

The plan for today was to fly to North Ronaldsay on Loganair's 10:30 Inter Island flight, spend the day cycling around the island, and get the late afternoon flight back to the Orkney mainland.

But... the weather. It was good enough at Kirkwall Airport but low cloud was a problem at the other end. Tiny aircraft serving tiny airports in tiny communities.

I waited two hours for news of a departure and then gave up. By then I was concerned about getting there and then the return flight being cancelled.

I will get my money back. It was a business class full fare ticket - £18 each way.

Plan B has involved quite a bit of relaxation around Kirkwall - you know, cappuccino, muffin etc.

The harbour was busy around lunchtime, with small inshore boats landing their catch. Hand dived scallops seems to be a big thing. I got a Blip out of it. My dinner arriving?
