Calne (Friday 12th July 2019)

The tips of the buds of the crocosmia are just beginning to appear at the Old Forge, just when I was beginning to think they weren't going to, but elsewhere in Calne they've been dazzling with their outrageous blooms for weeks. I snapped these crocosmia 'Lucifer' in the Town Gardens when I popped into town.
Thanks to Bikerbear for hosting Flower Friday.
On Saturday I was out in Andover and took well over 250 pictures that I am currently working my way through.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Fats Domino - Before I Grow Too Old (recorded 10  February 1960, Cosimo Recording Studio, New Orleans LA)
Antoine 'Fats' Domino (vocal, piano), Dave Bartholomew (trumpet), Clarence Ford and Robert 'Buddy' Hagans (tenor sax), Roy Montrell (guitar), Jimmie Davis (upright bass), Cornelius "Tenoo" Coleman (drums)
I found this on a rock and roll compilation but originally it was the B-side of Tell Me That You Love Me in April 1960. It was written by Robert Guidry (aka Bobby Charles), a big fan of Fats Domino, who was an ethnic Cajun from Louisiana and the composer of See You Later Alligator, Small Town Talk, Walkin' To New Orleans  and many others, and who performed on the Band's The Last Waltz concert in 1976.
This was produced and arranged by the legendary Dave Bartholomew who died in June at the age of 100. Bobby Charles recorded this song himself as Grow Too Old in 1972. Among many other recordings of the song is one by Joe Strummer.
