Peratallada

No beach today, we went inland a little way to the medieval town of Peratallada. It’s castle is built on the site of a former fortress  documented from the year 1065.
Like the nearby hilltop town of Pals the narrow streets are now full of little shops and cafes with many restaurants opening at night.
It’s also known as a town of cats and there were plenty there to delight Eda. She met many friends whilst wandering the streets - extra.
It was very quiet when we arrived but places started opening from 10.30am and we found somewhere for coffee that also did creps. We had to have some of course!
The shops were open then so another look around and we found a Magdelaineria with a choice of 12. We got a box of four for later (they were about muffin sized) then a got a light  boccadillo lunch before heading back.
Grace and John went to the beach whilst Eda slept so we baby sat (and had a bit of a snooze too after our late night last night!)
Very sultry today a quiet evening in with a drink or two and artisan cakes will be much appreciated.
