Libellula

Ollie dog and I had a lovely, if damp, walk along the River Stort towpath to Glen Faba where she enjoyed paddling in a lake. On the way back we watched a couple of narrowboats negotiating Brick Lock. Ollie loved all the activity.

I was rather taken with the image of dragonflies on the narrowboat above. Libellula is Italian for dragonfly. There are a lot of people with Italian ancestry in the area so maybe that's why the name was chosen. It could also be because the Latin scientific name for the chaser family of dragonflies is Libellula.
