Keeping House

I stopped off at Chartwell on the way home from Mum's today. Winston Churchill's house at Westerham, with wonderful views overlooking the Kentish Weald, is now managed by the National Trust and still contains many reminders of one of this countries most senior and respected statesmen.

However, my photographic eye was taken by the sight of house martins nesting in the eaves of the main house.  These tiny, fast moving birds proved impossible to capture on the wing, but I did mange this shot of some at rest on some vines, though only one dained to sit facing the camera!
