Family time

An unscheduled but welcome visit from LH's brother who's on his grand tour of the UK.

Not sure how long the weather window will last so this afternoon/ evening has been gardening. Glad to report that the mega mulching exercise in April has reduced the weed incursion so we need to keep tipping that up.

We were in Shrewsbury this morning in order to take our grandfather clock mechanism for repair to a wonderful shop that stocks antique clocks and barometers. Such wonderful craftsmanship and technical skill. If only we had the money ...

We also had a stop into the booze outlet on our way back, ostensibly to buy a belated 60th bottle of special gin for a good friend. Funny how a couple of cases of wine seemed to magically appear in the car boot too; LH is a good customer :-)
