I knew it, I just knew it...

The regular viewer of this page may remember my somewhat fulsome praise of Ottawa city council a while back. They were, it was suggested, on the right track with their cultivation of wildflowers in high traffic areas.

Then I drive by the same place once again - a mere day later - and find they had done exactly what I suspected they might: chop down the lush beauty of yellow with their petrol-driven mowers. 

The wankers. The absolute wankers. At the risk of coming on all Victor Meldrew, is it too much to expect a little initiative from your city? A little intelligence? A little environmental leadership and stewardship? For Ottawa, the answer is quite clearly, yes.
