Gynt 1

Woke with a start just before 8, a start because A, the plumber, was coming at 8.15 Mmm, he was running late and got here at 9.45. The boiler problem is a sticking valve, so it will be intermittent earplugs till it is fixed.

Long email done and then off for my first FCV shift. It wasn't that busy but the craic was good and we directed people to, amongst others, the Tattoo Office, the NMS, George Sq and an ice cream shop. The shift was curtailed though when the skies were riven by lightning letting through the deluge of water which was stotting off the pavement. We, like others, took refuge in the NMS before ending 30 minutes early.

That meant I could go home before going out again to 'Peter Gynt'. The London reviews were mixed but I thought it was great, stunning set and a tour de force from James McArdle. Long, a G&T, pink fizz and a Luca's choc ice, 3 hours 25 minutes!

Did a bit more helping tourists on the way in - a poor women trying to get to Leith with 2 kids and a £20 note. Luckily I had change.
