Started off with a wander around Windermere - years since I've done this. Some nice shops and coffee, and good to explore the town and the water's edge with all the rowing boats.
We then went to Grasmere to get some gingerbread and have another wander, but got caught in a heavy shower on the way back to the car. Headed to Brantwood - Ruskin's home for many years. The garden was beautiful and the house interesting but not as beautiful as the Arts and Crafts place yesterday - more Victorian feeling at least in the original parts of the house.
Back to the hotel after we'd explored, then off for a treat to have dinner at L'Enclume. Just fantastic......every course an adventure and so exquisite and delicious....fabulous evening
