Maybe not such a good idea!

It's been a really showery day ...... but mid afternoon the sun struggled through .... so we decided to be brave & go for a walk!

So with macs at the ready we set off ....... as we reached the entrance to Pioneer Wood .... this was the sky that greeted us! We did wonder if it was a good idea ..... but we crossed our fingers & carried on with our walk!

We didn't do too badly .... a couple of light showers ....... then as we were heading back it rained harder .... but we found a tree to shelter under so didn't get too wet!

However ..... about 5 minutes after getting home ..... there was a huge streak of lightening ...... a loud clap of thunder almost overhead & it poured down .... that's what I call good timing!

We did see a few things on our walk ....... this Darter (bottom left) & also this Common Blue butterfly (bottom right) which was sheltering in the grass during one of the light showers! There were also a few White butterflies fluttering around & a flock of Goldfinches :-)
