Piles of grain

There was a huge pile of grain outside when the heavens opened yesterday, but the guy who was collecting it up this afternoon said that the rain doesn't do any damage to it.  As a couple of people mentioned yesterday, the driers soon sort out the top layer of wet ones, which are all mixed in with the dry anyway.  The rain is more disruptive to the harvester which has to  stop working in those conditions.

I got chatting to the builders who are renovating 10 Bartlow Road (a few doors up from me).   They have absolutely transformed the place including the upstairs (which I looked at several years ago as potential offices).  It's light, clean and airy and is going to be a Food and Wine shop opening in about 3 weeks time.

We are very lucky to have shops opening in the village rather than closing.
