Lydgate Viaduct

A lovely sunny afternoon so we decided to have a nostalgic walk around Lydgate (Todmorden) which is where Mrs MD grew up.  Great fun with lots of memories.
This is George Stephenson’s 13-arch Lydgate Viaduct which was built around 1908 and carries trains between Todmorden and Burnley.
We also visited the site of Mount Olivet Baptist Chapel which is the chapel where we were married - back in 1964!  We were the first wedding there for 10 years, and the last.  It was demolished in the late 60s - my extra shows all that remains.
