The Lozarithm Lens

Seend Cleeve (Thursday 15th August 2019)

Trowbridge was my main destination yesterday, to visit C. for the first time in her new home and testing out the routes between the Old Forge and there. On the outward journey I drove via Melksham where I did a weekly shop at Waitrose and got a takeaway coffee. The return trip was slightly more complicated as I had to fight TomTom, which wanted me to brave the town centre one-way system unnecessarily. I managed to avoid that fate but did go slightly wrong, though it was intentional that I passed through Seend Cleeve and stopped at the Barge Inn to take a few pictures on a towpath walk up to Bolland's Hill Bridge and back.
I have been enjoying getting used to the vintage 20-35mm lens again, coming into its own now I have it on a full-frame DSLR for the first time. The uncropped Blip was taken at 20mm (no vignetting at all), whereas this was at the other end of the zoom in the camera's Crop mode (53mm), with the sun behind me and two horses grazing in a field to the South.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Big Thief - Not (recorded at Sonic Ranch, Tornillo TX, 2019)
Adrianne Lenker (vocals, guitar), Buck Meek (guitar, backing vocals), Max Oleartchik (bass), James Krivchenia (drums)
This went down a storm on Roundtable, when I heard it on the drive towards Seend Cleeve with one reviewer, Hannah, giving it 9 points (out of ten). I have very much enjoyed what I have heard of them before, indeed Shark Smile and Hayley had both been LOTD's in 2017, and I have also liked Adrianne Lenker's solo work. This new single comes from their forthcoming fourth album Two Hands, their second to be released in 2019.
