The Lammermuirs

An arrangement made last night meant I was being picked up for a walk in the Lammermuirs this morning, by a friend who is in training for Ben Nevis!   I was up early to hang my washing out before we set off.  I left the boys to sort themselves out – church and football were on the cards.  We had a lovely walk up Lammerlaw, down to Hopes Reservoirs and back to Longyester.  It was quite windy, but not cold, and there were a couple of light showers, but generally there was sunshine and the East Lothian countryside was looking lovely, with clear views over to Fife.

I got home in time for a late lunch, a few chores, and later when TT was hedge cutting and BB was not really addressing his homework, I escaped a for another wee walk around about until the homework was done.

I baked, for the first time in months, when I got back, then made tea – enjoying a gin and tonic while it was cooking.  Later there was ironing and more ironing, and then I gave up.  The mountain is too big for one evening!

Here’s a lovely view of the Lammermuirs around Hopes Reservoir.  The extra is view over East Lothian from our walk up to Lammerlaw.
